The Whitfield show team got the season off to a fantastic start at Otley Show, with sheep placed in every class entered and both the Breed Champion and Reserve Breed Champion coming home to Whitfield.
Leading the way was our yearling ewe Whitfield Fallen-in-Love, who won the yearling ewe class before going on to be crowned Kerry Hill Breed Champion.
Fallen-in-Love is sired by Marlbrook Angus and a ET daughter of Whitfield Double Act, who also enjoyed a successful day, standing first in the aged ewe class. It was particularly pleasing to see mother and daughter both winning their respective classes.
There was further success with the younger members of the team. Whitfield Glamorous took first place in the ewe lamb class, with Whitfield Golden Diamond following in second. Glamorous is a full sister to Fallen-in-Love with Diamond being a full sister to Whitfield Double Diamond.
The ram lambs also secured the top two places, with Whitfield Graham standing first and going on to take Reserve Breed Champion, while Whitfield Gold finished second.

A brilliant start to the season and a particularly rewarding result to see sheep from different generations of the Whitfield breeding programme performing so well. A huge thank you to Cath for travelling down from Scotland to judge the Kerry Hill classes.
